Kim Byrne

MA, BCBA, LBA

Clinical Consultant

Kim’s mother would tell you that she was put on this earth to save every suffering man, woman, child and animal in existence, while moonlighting as a stand-up comedian. A long history in dance and theater does serve Kim in her ability to capture an audience’s attention and deliver a message with a distinct and effective charm, whether she is working one on one with a student or with a room of parents or colleagues. She has what she calls her “finger on the pulse” of her audience and understands how to use that to guide her
teaching.

Having had the good fortune of mentoring with the best of the brilliant and worst of the atrocious teachers in the arts and education, Kim has experienced the contrast that led her to carve out the specific type of teacher she wanted to be. At age twelve she began assisting her ballet instructor with the three-year-old classes in exchange for a reduction in her own tuition. By age fifteen, she began managing the summer dance program at her local YWCA. In her twenties she was teaching full-time in both gymnastics and dance and eventually moved into managerial positions, having honed her people skills to the degree that she was invaluable in her role of keeping the peace for staff and clients.

Kim thrives on solution-based interactions and providing relief and assurance to parent concerns. She adheres to a compassionate care model of intervention that strives to move clients towards behaviors that align with their values. In her own words “If I have educated orinspired someone, it’s a good day. I consider what I do, a privilege, an honor and a lovelyway to wander through this life.”
